My Experience with Darth Vader Vol. 1 by Gillen, Larroca, and Delgado

I’ve continued my journey into comics with something that is familiar to me, but in a format I’ve never experienced before: Star Wars. Published by Marvel, the Star Wars comics is a growing branch of Star Wars stories, and now that both are under the house of mouse, I imagine this will only grow. Darth Vader is a comic run I’ve been interested in since I heard of it, and I’m pleased with the first few installments.

The Darth Vader series follows (as you might expect) Darth Vader after the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. After disappointing his master for failing to defend the death star against a rag-tag band of rebels, Vader must now prove himself worthy of apprenticeship to Emperor Palpatine once more.

The story and art of this series are fantastic so far, and Dr. Aphra is a new character that I really enjoy. I recommend picking this up if you want an appetizer before you see Episode IX: Rise of the Skywalker.
